Skills & Qualifications

A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) plays a crucial role in supporting students' communication and language development. To excel in this role, individuals must possess:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology

  • Current CA SLP license/credential or eligibility

  • Fingerprint background clearance

Responsibilities

School-based speech-language pathologists play a crucial role in supporting students' communication. Responsibilities will include:

1) Direct Therapy Services: Implementation of ethical direct therapy services outlined in student’s Individual Education Program.

2) Screening and Evaluation Services: Screening and evaluation of student’s assigned within timeline as outlined by the California Department of Education, along with writing comprehensive evaluation reports.

3) Consultation and Conference: Confer with caregivers, teachers, and IEP teams regarding student needs.

4) Related/Indirect Services: Maintain progress reporting, therapy logs, data collection, and attendance records as needed.

5) Supportive Services: Completion of supportive services such as skilled material/session preparation, maintenance of student records, and case management of students as assigned
